According to the news on August 29th, Huawei announced the start of sales for the Mate 60 Pro without any publicity, directly putting this high-end flagship smartphone on the market.

Huawei Mate 60 Pro Sales Begin and Analysis of the Kirin 9000s Chip Speculations

Some netizens have posted pictures of their early purchases of the Huawei Mate 60 Pro, and the CPU platform displayed is Kirin 9000s.

Is the Kirin 9000s truly in existence?

Some people believe that from the perspective of contract manufacturing, Huawei may have already started using a new production capacity chip similar to the Kirin 710A in the Enjoy 50 smartphone, indicating a breakthrough in domestic manufacturing processes. Therefore, Huawei could potentially obtain the high-end Kirin 9000S chip through stacking technology.

Another theory is that even though the United States bans chip manufacturers from contract manufacturing chips for Huawei, Huawei can still commission these manufacturers for trial production and chip design processes. According to this theory, with each trial production run, Huawei can obtain a small number of chips and subsequently release a certain quantity of Kirin 9000s chips in the market.

The cost of acquiring chips through this method would be astronomical. Furthermore, if chip production is indeed possible, Huawei would likely attempt to develop higher-performance chips with new architectures rather than investing substantial funds in testing chips that have already been successfully validated and mass-produced.

Currently, the chip model identified by benchmark software is Kirin 9000s. According to cpuinfo information, the CPU section features a 12-core design with a specific architecture of 2+6+4, including two A34 cores, six customized A78AE cores, and four A510 cores, with a maximum clock frequency of 2.62GHz. The GPU model is Maleoon, which appears to be a new architecture, but further details are yet to be identified.

Based on the current situation, the CPU performance of the Huawei Mate 60 Pro appears to be stronger than the Snapdragon 888 but slightly inferior to the Snapdragon 8 series. AnTuTu’s evaluation suggests that launching such a powerful flagship SoC in the current technological environment is quite rare. However, due to the GPU section not yet being fully adapted, relevant testing cannot be conducted at this time.
