AVR microcontrollers suited to industrial and automotive applications
Mouser is now shipping the AVR64EA 8-Bit AVR microcontrollers from Microchip Technology. The MCUs supply engineers with high-speed, low-power, integrated, analog and hardware-based CIPs, for a broad range of real-time control, sensor node and secondary safety monitoring for industrial, consumer, and automotive applications.
The MCUs are furnished with an AVR CPU with hardware multiplier, running at clock speeds up to 20MHz. These devices provide 64KB of Flash, 6KB of SRAM, and 512bytes of EEPROM and supply a 12-bit differential ADC with a PGA with up to 16x gain. The MCU allows the measurement of smaller amplitude signals, reclaims signals from noisy environments and performs speedy conversions for quick and accurate signal measurement in harsh environments, all with low-power efficiency.
The microcontrollers provide an accurate and temperature-stable internal 20MHz RC oscillator, configurable custom logic event system and CIPs, to greatly decrease the necessity for external components. The devices are provided in SPDIP, SSOP, TQFP and VQFN packages ranging from 28 to 48 pins, with an operating temperature range of -40C to +85C ambient.
The Microchip Technology AVR64EA48 Curiosity Nano evaluation kit (EV66E56A) supports the AVR MCU. The kit incorporates a pre-mounted AVR64EA48 microcontroller. Supported by both MPLAB X IDE and Microchip Studio, the board offers easy access to the features of the AVR64EA48 to explore how to incorporate the device into a custom design. The Curiosity Nano series of evaluation boards include an on-board debugger, and no external tools are necessary to program and debug the device.
